About WONCA SAR Conference 2024

WONCA South Asia Region (WONCA SAR) is a relatively recent addition to WONCA, established subsequent to the division of the previous WONCA Middle East and South Asia Region (MESAR).

Comprising member organizations from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, some countries within WONCA SAR boast more than one member. Bhutan, relatively a young country to the discipline of family medicine, is also a part of the region and holds its academic membership.
The upcoming WONCA SAR Conference in 2024 will serve as an optimal platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and solutions in the realm of Primary Care & Family Medicine, extending its reach beyond the region.

The distinguished panel of Resource Persons will feature experts hailing from member nations and globally, catering to a diverse audience. The conference program is designed to offer compelling educational content and foster engaging networking opportunities among experts, healthcare practitioners, researchers, and peers in the field of Family Medicine.
Scheduled to unfold over three days from May 3rd to 5th, 2024, the conference will encompass Plenaries, Guest Lectures, Symposia, the Sharing of Good Practices, Research Findings, and Workshops. The chosen theme, "Celebrating Family Medicine-Nurturing Our Values Across the Region," underscores the imperative for healthcare professionals to embody caring practices.

The Conference will also feature the active participation of various working groups in the region consisting of new and future doctors with an interest in family/general practice. These groups are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the discourse of the conference.
